  I was lucky to have Paul Ryan as my attorney. I had never been in trouble with the law. I was thankful to have him and his wonderful staff.

  I had asked "Larry" for a simple opinion related to starting up a new corporate entity before hiring him to form the corporation or LLC. Business Law is listed as one of their specialties. My concerns involved trade secrets, which I only know enough about to ask some questions, not to answer them with any legal finesse. I was about to invest my life savings into a startup, and I just needed a few answers to questions regarding intellectual property I had inherited, as well as the trade secrets. After a week of hearing nothing, I wondered what was going on, because a lot was pending on this opinion. Things were in motion, but now everything was waiting on this. When we wrote to find out what was taking so long, he admitted he "had no idea" that there was a Pennsylvania Trade Secret statute, but that his associate had borrowed a book to learn about it. Seriously? When I questioned the value of the ensuing legal opinion, he freaked out, telling me that he didn't need a client with my "attitude". When I suggested that we should talk, he said, "No need to talk. I have no interest in representing you." The lawyer doth protest too much, methinks. Good riddance, Larry. I have no interest in your opinion.
